The Union Home Ministry is deploying an additional 5,000 paramilitary personnel to assist the state government in managing the "volatile" situation in the Northeastern state.

Amit Shah reviews security deployment in Manipur during the meeting, directing Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and state police officials to maintain peace and order in the region.

According to the information released, Shah, with the senior officials for the second consecutive day, deliberated over the volatile situation in the state.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level meeting on Monday to discuss the ongoing situation in Manipur as the violence in the state escalated. This marked the second consecutive day of deliberations led by the Home Minister on the state’s security concerns.

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, and Intelligence Bureau (IB) Director Tapan Deka among other top officials are expected to be present at the high-level meet chaired by Shah.
