Paul Mescal joins an exclusive group of Irish actors who served as hosts of the iconic "Saturday Night Live." Paul Mescal will host "Saturday Night Live" on December 7, accompanied by musical guest Shaboozey.

The sketch featured cast members Marcello Hernández, Andrew Dismukes and Emil Wakim as the hosts of a podcast called “Banger Boyz.” At the top of the episode, they announced that Trump has been elected, with help in part by his appearance on their show prior to the election.

The Peacock network heavily relied on stunt casting this election cycle with "SNL" alums Maya Rudolph and Dana Carvey playing Vice President Kamala Harris and President Biden respectively, comedian Jim Gaffigan playing Harris' running mate Tim Walz and "SNL" alum Andy Samberg playing Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff.

This will be the first time Mescal has hosted the show, and comes two weeks after the premiere of 'Gladiator II.'

Charli XCX made her hosting debut on Saturday Night Live on Nov. 16, also singing her hits “360” and “Sympathy Is a Knife” off of the album Brat.
