A Charlotte Mecklenburg police officer was shot in the leg early Sunday morning after a confrontation with a man involved in a domestic dispute.

An officer was involved in a shooting in uptown Charlotte Sunday morning, CMPD says. MEDIC confirmed it was called to the scene on Graham Street and 10th street, but that CMPD took someone to the hospital in a patrol car. A Channel 9 crew could see crime scene tape blocking the intersection. Police are asking people to avoid the intersection.
