The National Weather Service has issued multiple Tornado Warnings and Flash Flood warnings in parts of central North Carolina due to Tropical Depression Chantal. Around 10
Tropical Depression Chantal brought destruction to North Carolina. Heavy rains caused severe flooding across the state. Chatham, Lee, and Moore counties faced the worst impact. Moore County declared a state of emergency.
Flash flooding is currently impacting Mebane, North Carolina, with several streets submerged. A possible tornado has also been reported on the ground.
Tropical Storm Chantal continues to progress through North Carolina with occasional downpours, gusty winds, and the risk of isolated tornadoes. The storm made landfall early this morning just south of our area in northeastern South Carolina and is now drifting northward through Central North Carolina Rain bands from Chantal continue to affect the coast and inland areas,
