Paul Mescal says Saoirse Ronan “hit the nail on the head” when she schooled him and the other members of an all-male panel about women’s safety during an appearance on “The Graham Norton Show” that went viral.

The “Gladiator II” star appeared on Ireland’s “The Late Late Show” on Friday night, where he was asked whether he’d been surprised by his “Foe” co-star’s now-viral remark. “No, I don’t think we were surprised because, as you said, you’re on a talk show like this and you’re kind of just talking,” Mescal, 28, explained.
