Apple new iPhone 16E with Apple Intelligence and Apple's first in-house 5G modem is now available to preorder.

Apple just announced the long-rumored iPhone 16E. With a starting price of $599 (up from the $429 SE ), it’s now the most affordable smartphone in the iPhone lineup and offers the company’s latest A18 processor, Apple Intelligence software features, and a much better OLED display.

It starts at $599 and includes the company’s A18 chip and support for Apple Intelligence. The iPhone 16E also has Apple’s first 5G modem, the C1, instead of a Qualcomm chip. It ships on February 28th.

The iPhone 16E is Apple's rumored low-cost iPhone that's being announced as soon as Wednesday, February 19. Modeled after the iPhone 14, the iPhone 6E is expected to feature an all-display design with Face ID, which means Apple plans to eliminate Touch ID.

At the heart of the system, the C1 (Cellular 1) chip first appears in the iPhone 16e. It is also expected to debut in other Apple devices in the coming months and will likely see use across all or most of the iPhone range by this time next year. Apple calls it “the most power efficient modem ever in an iPhone.”

The iPhone 16e features an OLED screen, the A18 chipset that supports Apple Intelligence, and other improvements to battery life and camera. The iPhone SE 3, on the other hand, is the last iPhone with the iconic "Home button" look though it lags modern offerings with its aging chip and camera.
